ABOUT THE AUTHOR

She had always wanted to write children’s storybooks. However, her work as a marketing communications professional kept her busy for many years. Then came COVID-19. During the lockdown, Chew Lee Ching, had lots of time to think, review her priorities, and engage in new pursuits. It was then that she decided to pursue her interest and started to write her first children’s storybook, “Making New Friends With Baby King,” for her grandson Ethan. The first of five books in the “Baby King and Friends” series, this book was released in April 2021. Encouraged by the positive response to her first book, she continued writing stories with a touch of whimsicality and fun for young readers.

Inspired by a love for simple writing developed from her earlier career as a journalist, she focuses on stories that young children can relate to and provides parents with simple and colourful storybooks that they can read to or with their little ones. Other titles followed, and her third series of books, “Fables of Baby King,” will be launched soon. Tune in for more information on children's stories with strong local content.

Here’s what some of you say about
the virtual launch of the two new books.

"It was a well organised new book launch session with finger rhymes, songs, story telling and question and answer. Personally, I enjoyed it a lot and was inspired in many ways."

Sarah, Hudson’s mom

"From what I observed, Peter liked the interactive song/rhyme segments in both languages and the puppetry that went along with the story-telling. The content is very topical to him, since he’s always talking about “saltwater crocodile” and has been to East Coast Park and Sungei Buloh. He wanted to share that his dad saw acroc and snakes at Sungei Buloh. He had a great time"

Peter’s mom

"I think it was a good session. Kids enjoyed it! The animal cut out helps too cos it is very colourful and pretty!"

Emma and Evan’s mom
